This past Saturday, September 26th, five members of Outreach joined Barakat (barakatworld.org) in their 8th Annual Walk for Literacy. With the funds raised from our bake sale and generous contributions from various students and parents of the Hamilton-Wenham community, we were able to donate $400 to Barakat! This money will go towards Barakat's work of providing basic education that advances literacy and increases access to secondary education for girls and women through their schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Board president, Ian Crowley, explaining Barakat and the walk.

Selling bags made by women in Afghanistan.

Preparing for the five miles.

Walking along the Charles.

Mile four... could have used a selfie stick.
